Tinder Gold review (2026): what it costs, what it adds, and the 30-day rule

Tinder Gold's US App Store prices on October 20, 2026 were $13.99, $14.99, $18.99 and $24.99 per item (Tinder Plus: $9.99), third-party checks put a single month of Gold at $29.99 to $39.99 and Platinum at $49.99, and Tinder's own pages don't publish a price at all. Gold adds exactly three things to Plus: a page showing who already Liked you, weekly Super Likes and one Boost a month. My rule is to buy it as a 30-day test, on the shortest plan, with auto-renew switched off the same day. Below: what that costs, what Tinder's own help pages say you get, what Gold leaves untouched, and who should skip it.
A disclosure before the numbers. I founded NexSpark, a matchmaking company, and we compete with dating apps, Tinder included, for people who are worn out on swiping. That's a fair reason to read me skeptically, so every figure below has a named source and the date I read it, my opinions are labeled as opinions, and where I couldn't verify something I say so. I didn't subscribe to Gold for this review, which means nothing here is a hands-on test of how many matches it produces.

Both store ratings are for the whole app, not Gold; neither store breaks out paying members. The bottom three rows come back in the section on what Gold doesn't fix.
What Tinder Gold costs in 2026
Tinder doesn't publish Gold's price. Its subscription-tiers page and its help article on subscriptions (updated October 1, 2026) list what each tier includes and no prices; the article says to "check subscription details in Tinder." The number you're quoted depends on you. Section 7 of Tinder's terms of use (effective March 5, 2026) says pricing "varies based on a number of factors," including region, subscription length and account activity, and in March 2026 Top Class Actions reported a $60.5 million settlement of a California class action, Candelore v. Tinder, that accused Tinder of charging older users more for Plus and Gold. Tinder didn't admit wrongdoing.
So the only prices I'll stand behind are ones I can point at. On October 20, 2026, at 4:07 pm Eastern, Tinder's US App Store page listed these in-app purchases:
- Tinder Gold: $13.99, $14.99, $18.99 and $24.99
- Tinder Plus: $9.99
- Boost: 1 Boost at $3.99, $6.99 and $7.99
- Super Likes: 3 for $9.99 and 5 for $4.99
NexSpark captured the same page on October 5, 2026, and the four Gold items and the Plus item were identical, so those prices have held for at least two weeks. Three caveats. Apple lists at most ten items and doesn't label plan lengths, so I can't say which Gold price is a week, a month or six months. Platinum isn't among the ten. And Android and web prices differ: Google Play's listing shows no range.
For a single month, the only figures I found are third-party. SwipeStats, in a guide it last modified on September 7, 2026, puts one month of Gold at $29.99 to $39.99, six months at $112.99 and twelve months at $149.99, and its March 2026 subscription guide puts Plus at $24.99 and Platinum at $49.99 a month. I couldn't confirm any of those on a Tinder page, and they don't line up neatly with Apple's four items, which is what you'd expect if the quote depends on who's asking. Our older 2026 dating app price guide uses about $39.99 for a single month of Gold. Read that as the top of the range, not the price.
What Gold adds over Plus
Tinder's help article on subscriptions (updated October 1, 2026) and its subscription-tiers page, which I read October 20, describe the three paid tiers like this:
| Tier | What Tinder lists | App Store items, Oct 20 |
|---|---|---|
| Plus | Unlimited Likes, Rewinds (take back your last Like or Nope), Passport (chat with people in the destination of your choice), ad-free browsing, Incognito | $9.99 |
| Gold | Everything in Plus, plus seeing who Likes you before you decide, weekly Super Likes, and one Boost a month | $13.99, $14.99, $18.99, $24.99 |
| Platinum | Everything in Gold, plus Prioritized Likes (your Likes and Super Likes are seen faster by a potential match) | Not listed |
Notice where the limit-removing features sit. Unlimited Likes, Rewinds, Passport and the ad-free app are all in the cheaper Plus tier. Gold's contribution is a page, a few Super Likes and a Boost. Tinder's help article on Likes (updated October 28, 2025) calls the page "Likes" and says it lets you see who already liked your profile before you decide whether to Like or Nope; it's currently limited to Gold and Platinum subscribers. That page is the product.
Two details from Tinder's own footnotes. The monthly Boost isn't available on weekly subscriptions, and some Gold subscribers on plans of one month or longer may not receive it "due to testing." Tinder also doesn't state how many weekly Super Likes you get on the pages I read. Third-party guides also credit Gold with Top Picks and Platinum with Message Before Matching; I couldn't find either on Tinder's own pages, so I haven't counted them.
The 30-day rule: Gold is a test, not a plan
Here's the claim I haven't seen on any other Gold review. Because Gold's one real difference from Plus is a single page, you can find out whether it's worth paying for inside a month, and the way Tinder prices it is built to keep you from finding out. The App Store's own Gold items span $13.99 to $24.99, a gap of about 1.8 times, for one identical feature list. The longest plans carry the lowest per-month rate. A rate that's lowest for the longest commitment suits only someone who already knows they'll use it all term, and you can't know that before you've seen the page.
So this is the rule I'd follow. It's my opinion, built on the facts above:
- Buy the shortest plan Tinder offers you, however much worse its per-month rate looks.
- Switch off auto-renew the same day. Apple's listing says auto-renewal can be turned off at any time and that the current period can't be canceled, which reads as: turn off renewal, then use what you paid for. Tinder's help article doesn't say whether access continues after you cancel, so I'm quoting Apple and claiming nothing more.
- Set a stop-loss before you pay. Decide how many people on the Likes page you'd honestly message. If it's a handful out of dozens, visibility wasn't your bottleneck and no tier will fix it.
- On day 30, count dates, not matches. A match costs nothing to collect. A date is the outcome you're paying for.
There's an inference under this that I should flag as mine, not Tinder's. The people who've already Liked you are a backlog, and a backlog shrinks as you work through it. After month one you're paying mostly for the trickle of new Likes.
The arithmetic, and where it stops
Cost per outcome is the right frame, with one catch: nobody publishes how many extra dates Gold produces, Tinder included, so any number is an assumption. Here's the division at the prices I found.
| Price | If Gold adds 1 date | 2 dates | 4 dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| $13.99 (lowest App Store Gold item) | $13.99 | about $7.00 | about $3.50 |
| $24.99 (highest App Store Gold item) | $24.99 | about $12.50 | about $6.25 |
| $39.99 (top of the third-party one-month range) | $39.99 | about $20.00 | about $10.00 |
An App Store item isn't necessarily a month, so the first two rows are the cost of whatever period that item covers. The cost of skipping the test is clearer. Take SwipeStats' $149.99 twelve-month price and stop using Gold after three months: you've paid $50 for each month you used, more than the highest one-month price anyone quotes.
What Gold doesn't fix
- Who you're shown, and who likes you. Neither Tinder page I read lists any change to match quality for Plus or Gold. The only tier whose listed feature changes how your Likes are treated is Platinum, through Prioritized Likes.
- A uniform product. By Tinder's own footnotes, some Plus subscribers may still see ads and some Gold subscribers may not get the monthly Boost, both due to testing.
- The free-tier Like limit, if that's your problem. Tinder's pages that I read don't state the free daily Like cap; SwipeStats reports 100 right swipes a day, which I couldn't confirm. Either way, removing the cap is a Plus feature. If the cap is your only complaint, Gold is the wrong tier.
- Bots and fake profiles. I looked for a primary source that measures bots or match quality on Tinder and didn't find one, so I'm not putting a number on it.
- The incentive behind the paywall. In Q2 2026, Tinder's paying base fell 5% to 8.518 million, revenue per payer rose 4% to $17.90 and direct revenue slipped 1%. A product earning slightly less from fewer payers who each pay more has every reason to keep you subscribed, which is why the cancel steps below matter. Our Hinge review shows the opposite trend in the same filing, and the incentive problem is built into the category.
Who Gold fits, and who should skip it (my opinion)
- It fits someone with a defined 30-day window to put real time into the app: just moved, just single again, or willing to open it most days. The Likes page rewards people who'll actually work through it.
- Skip it if the problem is your profile. The Likes page only helps if people are on it.
- Skip it if the cap or the ads bother you. That's Plus, the lowest paid price Apple lists.
- Skip it if you won't turn off auto-renew.
- Look at Platinum only after a Gold test shows you already have people worth messaging.
Canceling Tinder Gold, renewals and refunds
Cancel where you paid, and Tinder's help article (last updated July 16, 2025) says the order number tells you where that is: it starts with MK for iOS, GPA for Google Play and TNDR for the web. On an iPhone, that's Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Tinder, Cancel Subscription. On Google Play, it's the Play Store profile icon, Payments & Subscriptions, Subscriptions. If you paid Tinder directly on Android or the web, it's your profile icon, Manage Payment Account, Cancel Subscription. Subscriptions, Tinder says, renew automatically until they're canceled.
Refunds are narrow. Tinder's terms of use (effective March 5, 2026, Section 8d) say purchases are generally final and nonrefundable, with no refunds or credits for partially used periods, except where the law of your jurisdiction provides otherwise. The terms point to special rules for the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, Korea and Israel, and give subscribers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island and Wisconsin a short right to cancel without penalty after subscribing; read Section 8d for the exact window. Apple subscriptions are refunded by Apple, not Tinder. Checked October 20, 2026.
The honest verdict
My rating is 3 out of 5. Gold does one useful thing, showing you who already Liked you, and charges a subscription for it. That's worth testing for a month if you'll use the app hard, and not worth a year. The ratings (4.2 on the App Store, 3.9 on Google Play) say Tinder has a lot of people on it. They don't say a paid tier changes your odds, and nothing I found from Tinder says so either. Use the 30-day rule, count dates, and you'll know inside a month whether Gold earned a second one.
If you'd rather stop swiping
If what you want is to be done with the apps, there's a different model. At NexSpark you answer a set of questions once, an AI scores compatibility in both directions, and a person reviews every introduction before it reaches you. There's nothing to swipe, the matching rules are published, and so is the price: $599 per person, paid once, no subscription, free during our launch period.
Skip the swiping. See who we'd introduce you to.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Tinder Gold cost per month?
Tinder doesn't publish one price. On October 20, 2026, the US App Store listed Tinder Gold items at $13.99, $14.99, $18.99 and $24.99 and Tinder Plus at $9.99, without plan lengths. A third-party check (SwipeStats, last modified September 7, 2026) puts a single month of Gold at $29.99 to $39.99. Tinder's terms say your price varies with factors including region, subscription length and account activity.
Is Tinder Gold worth it?
It's worth a 30-day test, not a long plan. Gold adds three things to Plus: a page showing who already Liked you, weekly Super Likes and one Boost a month. Unlimited Likes, Rewinds, Passport and an ad-free app are in the cheaper Plus tier, and nothing Tinder lists changes match quality. Buy the shortest plan, turn off auto-renew the same day, and judge it by dates, not matches.
What is the difference between Tinder Gold and Platinum?
Tinder's help center says Platinum is everything in Gold plus Prioritized Likes, so your Likes and Super Likes are seen faster by a potential match. Third-party guides also list Message Before Matching, which I couldn't confirm on Tinder's pages. SwipeStats' March 2026 guide put Platinum at $49.99 for a month; Apple's US listing shows no Platinum item. Consider Platinum only after a Gold test shows you already have people worth messaging.
How do I cancel Tinder Gold?
Cancel where you paid. On iPhone: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, select Tinder, Cancel Subscription. On Google Play: profile icon, Payments & Subscriptions, Subscriptions, Cancel subscription. If you paid Tinder directly on Android or the web: profile icon, Manage Payment Account, Cancel Subscription. Tinder's help article (last updated July 16, 2025) says subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; Apple's listing says auto-renewal can be turned off at any time but the current period can't be canceled.
Does Tinder refund Tinder Gold?
Generally no. Tinder's terms of use (effective March 5, 2026) say purchases are generally final and nonrefundable, with no refunds or credits for partially used periods, except where local law provides otherwise. Apple subscriptions are refunded by Apple, not Tinder, and subscribers in a list of US states get a short right to cancel after subscribing.
Why do people pay different prices for Tinder Gold?
Tinder's terms say its pricing varies based on a number of factors, including region, subscription length and account activity. Tinder also agreed to a $60.5 million settlement of a California class action (Candelore v. Tinder) alleging it charged older users more for Plus and Gold, without admitting wrongdoing (Top Class Actions, March 2026). I couldn't verify Tinder's current pricing inputs.
How this was checked, and what it can't tell you. Last checked October 20, 2026. Ratings and the in-app purchase list were read from Tinder's US App Store and Google Play pages that day, and Apple's list shows at most ten items with no plan lengths. Feature lists, cancellation steps and terms come from Tinder's help center and terms pages, read the same day, with each page's own date given above. Financial figures are from Match Group's Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. Third-party prices come from SwipeStats and are marked as unconfirmed; I left out a second price aggregator because it listed a US Plus price of $99.99 that fits no other source. I didn't subscribe to Gold, I can't see the price Tinder would quote you, and nobody publishes how many extra dates a paid tier produces. I re-check this page monthly; the next check is due by November 17, 2026.
