Safety & Screening Disclosure
NexSpark LLC · Last updated: June 5, 2026
Your safety matters more to us than any match. This page explains what we do to protect members, what our verification does and does not cover, and how to look after yourself while dating — online and in person.
Important screening notice. NexSpark verifies the identity and age of members, but NexSpark does not conduct criminal background checks or screen members against sex-offender or other criminal registries. Identity verification confirms that a person is who they claim to be and is at least 18; it does not confirm that a person is safe, honest, or free of a criminal history. You should not assume that any member has been screened for criminal history, and you remain responsible for your own decisions about whom to communicate with or meet.
What we do to protect members
- Identity and age verification. Before introductions are delivered, members complete identity and age verification through a trusted third-party provider, which may include government-ID checks, selfie/liveness checks, and automated age-estimation. This reduces fake accounts and bots.
- Anonymity by default. Members are known to each other only by an alias until both choose to reveal more. Your real name and contact details are never shared without your explicit choice.
- Mediated, moderated messaging. Early conversations happen through our platform, where we can moderate for abusive, fraudulent, or off-platform-solicitation content.
- Human review. A real matchmaker reviews matches before they are introduced, and our team reviews reports of concerning behavior.
- Reporting and enforcement. You can report any member or message. We investigate reports and may suspend or remove members who break our Community Guidelines.
What verification does not do
Verification is a meaningful safeguard, not a guarantee. It cannot tell you whether someone will be kind, truthful, or safe to meet, and it cannot detect every false or harmful account. No screening method — including criminal background checks, which we do not perform — is foolproof. Treat every new connection with the same care you would apply when meeting any stranger.
Dating safely online
- Keep personal details private at first. Don’t share your home or work address, financial details, or daily routine until you genuinely trust someone.
- Stay on the platform. Be cautious if someone quickly pushes to move to text, another app, or email before you’re ready. Our messaging exists to protect you.
- Never send money or financial information. No genuine match will need your money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or bank or card details. Requests for money are the clearest sign of a scam — stop contact and report it.
- Watch for romance-scam red flags: declarations of love unusually fast, refusal to video chat or meet, stories that don’t add up, emergencies that require money, or pressure and urgency.
- Consider a video or voice call before meeting in person to confirm the person matches who they say they are.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a public, populated place for the first several dates, and arrange your own transportation there and back.
- Tell a friend or family member where you’re going, who you’re meeting, and when you expect to return; consider sharing your live location with someone you trust.
- Stay sober enough to keep your judgment, and keep your phone charged.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, you owe no one an explanation — leave.
Reporting concerns & getting help
If a member makes you uncomfortable, behaves abusively, asks for money, or seems fraudulent, report it to us at safety@nexspark.com and we will review it promptly. You can also block and decline any connection at any time, with no penalty.
If you are ever in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (911 in the United States) first. If you have experienced sexual assault, the RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-800-656-4673. To report suspected fraud, you can also contact the U.S. Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
