ID-verified dating: how NexSpark verifies every introduction
NexSpark LLC
Everyone we introduce you to has verified their ID with a government photo ID and a selfie. The check is run by Didit, a third-party identity verification provider, and it happens before any introduction is possible.
Our view. A profile photo proves a face exists. An ID check proves a person does. Optional selfie badges on swipe apps typically check that a face matches the profile’s own photos. They do not tell you that the name or the age is real. We verify the person, not just the picture.
How it works
- Take the quiz and save your report. No ID is needed for this step.
- We look for a match. A real person reviews every proposed match before it reaches you.
- When one is held for you, we ask you to verify. You photograph a government ID and take a selfie through Didit, which takes a few minutes on your phone.
- Once both people are verified, the introduction goes ahead. Until you both choose to connect, you see only an alias.
Verification is for adults only. NexSpark is 18+, and an account that cannot be verified as belonging to a person aged 18 or older is removed. Read the full Age Verification Policy.
What we keep and what we don’t
Didit checks your ID and selfie under its own privacy terms. It tells us only whether the check passed, a reference number, the date, and your date of birth for the age check. We do not receive or keep a copy of your document or selfie. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
What verification does not do
Identity verification confirms that a person is who they claim to be and is at least 18. It does not confirm that a person is safe, honest, or free of a criminal history. NexSpark does not run criminal background checks and does not screen members against sex-offender or other criminal registries. Verification is a meaningful safeguard, not a guarantee. Our Safety & Screening Disclosure explains what it covers and how to look after yourself while dating, online and in person. More on how we build trust is in the Trust Center.
Frequently asked questions
- Is ID verification free?
- During our launch period there is no charge at all, and that includes verification. Pricing and what is included are on our pricing page.
- Why do you verify after signup instead of at signup?
- Taking the quiz and saving your report does not require your ID. We ask you to verify once a match is held for you, so you only do it when there is a real introduction waiting. No introduction goes ahead until the check is done.
- Do you see my ID or my selfie?
- No. Didit checks your ID and selfie under its own privacy terms. It tells us only whether the check passed, a reference number, the date, and your date of birth for the age check. We do not receive or keep a copy of your document or selfie.
- What if I am declined?
- Members who have not passed identity and age verification do not receive introductions. An account that cannot be verified as belonging to a person aged 18 or older is removed. If you have a question about a verification result, email support@nexspark.com.
- Does verification work on my phone?
- Yes. The check takes a few minutes on your phone: you photograph a government ID, take a selfie, and Didit matches the two.
